Here are some of my thoughts & feelings about trauma:
No one gets to decide what should or shouldn't traumatize you.
No one gets to decide how your body is going to respond to experiences.
It is personal and individual for everybody.
There is help... In many different forms and functions. Mental health therapy, specialized yoga, breath, therapy, acupuncture, massage, etc.
The help doesn't have to be through mental health care (although extremely wise, but not for everybody.) The help doesn't have to be Alcoholics anonymous or Narcotics anonymous.
Find what fits and works for you.
Don't give up! You DESERVE happiness and peace.
Many that are traumatized turn to drugs, sex, alcohol, eating disorders or pharmaceuticals because their mind/nervous system is overworking. There is help!
I have found success in allowing yoga to help me unwind from chronic stress as a little one. It has been a 10 year journey, but I am finally moving in the direction of a healthier, happier me. You deserve that too!
We can have a free 15 minute phone or in person conversation to talk about your needs and how/if I can help you. If I cannot help I have some amazing resources I have found throughout the years.
