Here are some of my thoughts & feelings about trauma:

  • No one gets to decide what should or shouldn't traumatize you.

  • No one gets to decide how your body is going to respond to experiences.

  • It is personal and individual for everybody.

  • There is help... In many different forms and functions. Mental health therapy, specialized yoga, breath, therapy, acupuncture, massage, etc.

  • The help doesn't have to be through mental health care (although extremely wise, but not for everybody.) The help doesn't have to be Alcoholics anonymous or Narcotics anonymous.

  • Find what fits and works for you.

  • Don't give up! You DESERVE happiness and peace.

  • Many that are traumatized turn to drugs, sex, alcohol, eating disorders or pharmaceuticals because their mind/nervous system is overworking. There is help!

I have found success in allowing yoga to help me unwind from chronic stress as a little one. It has been a 10 year journey, but I am finally moving in the direction of a healthier, happier me. You deserve that too!
